Important Installation Information

For all the bolts used in Dyer’s connecting rods:

Disassemble and clean rod parts thoroughly to remove any dirt and foreign oils. Spread lube liberally on bolt threads and under the bolt heads. Also spread lube on the surface of the cap.

Stretch Method

Measure each bolt and note length. Tighten bolt until stretch is achieved for the bolt you are using. The torque needed to reach this stretch is dependent on the type of lube used.

Torque to Stretch Method

Measure each bolt and note length. Tighten each bolt to 40 ft-lbs, then torque to the final torque value. Then check the final length of the bolt to ensure it is within the spec.

When using the torque method, bolts must stretch to the indicated value. If the bolts do not achieve this stretch, failure may occur.

Never use rod bolts to draw the cap onto the rod. Locate cap dowels into the counterbores of the rod beam, then carefully tap the cap into place. Failure to do this may result in misalignment of the rod bore.

Failure to follow all installation instructions carefully may result in premature rod failure.

We warranty that Dyer’s Top Rods are manufactured from 300M, an aircraft-quality steel, meeting all specifications. Dyer’s Top Rods guarantees workmanship to meet or exceed the machining tolerances generally accepted within the motorsports industry as of the date of delivery.

If Dyer’s Top Rods receives notice that this product is defective, out of tolerance, or not as specified above within 90 days of delivery, Dyer’s Top Rods will, after inspection, repair or replace the defective product. In no event shall Dyer’s Top Rods be liable for direct, incidental, or consequential damages of any type.

Any modifications, such as grinding and machining done on Dyer’s Top Rods, in any manner, will void all warranties on connecting rods.
